Community Standards
Version 2.2 - published 2 October 2026
Cohorta is provided by Cohorta Ltd, registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom (company number 17376110). These Standards form part of, and are incorporated into, our Terms of Service. They set the rules for behaviour and content on Cohorta and support our safety duties under the Online Safety Act 2023.
1. Who and what this covers
These Community Standards (also our Acceptable Use Policy) apply to everyone who uses Cohorta and to all content and behaviour on the Service: profiles, photos, messages, and how you treat other members. Breaking them can lead to content removal or a permanent ban, and in serious cases referral to the police or other authorities.
2. Respect, identity and privacy
- Be respectful and genuine. Treat others as you'd want to be treated.
- Cohorta is for adults only (18+).
- Be yourself: one real account, real photos, accurate information.
- Keep private things private. Don't share other people's information, messages or images without consent.
3. Illegal content and behaviour: zero tolerance
The following are strictly prohibited; where illegal they will be removed and may be reported to law enforcement:
- Any sexual content involving, or sexualisation of, under-18s (child sexual abuse material). We have a zero-tolerance policy for this behaviour and report it to the authorities (including, as applicable, the National Crime Agency).
- Threats, harassment, stalking, or incitement to violence.
- Hate or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation or other protected characteristics.
- Terrorist or violent-extremist content.
- Encouraging or assisting suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
- Intimate-image abuse ("revenge porn"), voyeurism, sharing sexual images without consent, or sending unsolicited sexual images (cyberflashing).
- Extreme pornography or other illegal sexual content.
- Fraud, scams, phishing or financial exploitation (including romance scams).
- Sale or promotion of drugs, weapons or other illegal goods or services.
- Human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or controlling / coercive behaviour.
- Unlawfully sharing others' personal data (doxxing).
4. Other prohibited conduct
- Harassment, bullying, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Impersonation, fake profiles, bots, or catfishing.
- Spam, advertising, solicitation, or promoting other services or links.
- Nudity or sexually explicit content in profiles or photos.
- Prostitution or commercial sexual services.
- Screenshotting or sharing others' private conversations or profiles to shame or expose them.
- Misusing the reporting tools (false reports).
- Evading bans (for example by creating new accounts).
5. Safety
- Don't share sensitive personal or financial information with people you've just met.
- Be wary of anyone asking for money. It is very likely a scam; report it.
- When meeting in person, meet in public, tell someone where you'll be, and look after yourself.
6. Photos and profiles
- Use recent, genuine photos of yourself that you have the right to use.
- No nudity or sexually explicit images, no images of children, no images of other people without their consent, and nothing offensive or illegal.
7. Reporting and how we act
- You can report a member at any time: tap the member's avatar, then Report profile. Every report is received and handled by Cohorta.
- We review reports and may remove content, warn you or permanently ban accounts. We prioritise and act quickly on illegal content and safety reports, in line with the Online Safety Act 2023, and we keep records of reports and the action taken.
- Appeals: if we take action on your content or account, or you reported something and think we did too little, you can ask us to look again by replying to the outcome message or emailing support@cohorta.me. A person will review it and tell you the outcome.
8. Enforcement
Depending on severity we may remove content, warn you or permanently ban you. A ban ends access at once and cancels the subscription, with no refund of the current month except where the law requires. We tell you why and how to appeal.
Serious or illegal behaviour can result in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the police or relevant authority. We may preserve evidence where required.
9. Communities and events
Cohorta is organised around community groups. Your community's social life, including events published to or arranged through it, is run by the community and its organisers, not by Cohorta. All moderation and report handling on the Service is carried out by Cohorta. Events are the responsibility of the organiser, not Cohorta, and attendees take part at their own risk; see our Terms of Service (section 16).
10. Changes
We may update these Standards. We'll post the current version and, for material changes, notify members.
